Lorraine E. Bremer

Lorraine E. Bremer, 94, of Sturgeon Bay, died peacefully on May 19, 2021.  She was born in Chicago on Dec. 13, 1926 and grew up in Oak Park, IL.  After her marriage to C.A. “Al” Bremer, Lorraine lived in Glenview, IL, Stevens Point, WI, and Sturgeon Bay, WI (most recently at Pine Crest Village).  She and Al were married for 62 years.

 

She is survived by 3 children, Linda (Mike) Zolnosky, Sturgeon Bay; Diane (Paul) Bauman, Volo, IL; and Scott (JoAnn) Bremer, Wonder Lake, IL; Lorraine enjoyed her growing family of 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; also surviving is a sister-in-law Sandy Hansen. She was preceded in death by her husband Al, brothers Robert and Jack Hansen, and sister-in-law Carol Hansen.

 

Lorraine was always ready for a party and enjoyed entertaining, baking, knitting, sewing and rosemaling, especially being able to share her projects with family and friends.

She was a member of Hainesville Lutheran Church, a former member of the Door County Model A Club, various bridge clubs and the Door County Yacht Club.

 

Thanks to Pine Crest Village for their exceptional care and accommodation of Lorraine’s special needs.  Also, a huge thank you to Unity Hospice whose caring staff made her last days comfortable.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Unity Hospice of DePere (2366 Oak Ridge Circle, DePere, WI 54115).  Forbes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements, on-line condolences may be offered at www.forbesfuneralhome.com.
