Donald J. Lukes, 86, Algoma, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. Born on December 11, 1934, to the late Jerry and Blanche (Dvorak) Lukes. Donald graduated Algoma High School and later joined the U.S. Army. After the Army he worked as a carpenter for Petersen Builders and Bay Ship. Donald married JoAnne Kostichka on May 31, 1958, she preceded him in death on September 14, 1989. He enjoyed working in his garden, picking mushrooms and planting trees.
He is survived by his son Mark (Terri) Lukes; daughter Cheryl (Dave) Townsend; grandchildren, Nicole (Tim) Schultz, Amy (Nick) Heyrman, Mariah Lukes, and Cole Lukes; great-grandchildren, Madison Schultz, Jackson and Jaydon Heyrman; sister Carol (Don) Reinke; brother-in-law Jerome (Darlene) Kostichka; as well as be nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnne Lukes; parents, Jerry and Blanche Lukes, as well as by his mother- and father-in-law, and brothers- and sisters-in-law.
