LeVerle A. Koenig

LeVerle A. Koenig, 84, Algoma, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center.  She was born November 12, 1936 in Algoma to Harvey Sr. and Mary (Romdenne) Zimmerman.

LeVerle married Paul Koenig September 8, 1956 in Algoma.  The couple owned and operated Koenig's Tavern in Kodan for many years. She was the Town of Ahnapee Clerk for 50 years.  She enjoyed her time with family get togethers, campfires, watching birds and breakfast with the cousins. 

LeVerle is survived by her three children Paula (Dan) Presslein, Paul (Lisa) Koenig and Denise Koenig; four grandchildren Matt, David (Rachel), Jeff and Danielle (Andrew); great grandchildren Elliott, Brayden and one more coming in August; one sister-in-law Ethel Zimmerman.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, daughter Stephanie, siblings Harvey Zimmerman Jr., Jerome Zimmerman, Herbert (Donna) Zimmerman, Myra (Norman) Michaletz, Germaine (Donald) Entringer, Jimmy Zimmerman and sister-in-law Joyce (Richard) Klaubauf.

Family and friends may gather at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, Thursday, July 15, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM with gathering continuing, Friday, July 16, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Algoma, from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM with Father Alvan Amadi officiating.   Burial in the church cemetery.
