Obituaries

William R. Wagner

William Robert Wagner, 84, of Algoma passed away on August 4, 2021 at Algoma Long Term Care Unit with his loving wife by his side.  He was born March 12, 1937 in Maplewood to Edward and Louise (Schmelzer) Wagner.  On September 14, 1963 he married Sally Ann Guelette at St. Hubert’s Church in Rosiere. 

Bill’s first job was working at Wagner’s Meat Market in Maplewood with his brother Gerald.  He later farmed in Maplewood and also worked at U.S. Plywood in Algoma.  Bill enjoyed hunting and collecting guns, playing cards, and spending time with relatives, especially the fishing trips. He was also a HUGE Elvis Presley fan.

Survivors include his wife, Sally; a brother, Gerald  (Carol) Wagner, Sturgeon Bay; in-laws: Gary Guelette, Forestville; Fern Jilot, Sturgeon Bay; Lucille Vandertie, Green Bay; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, Charles; a sister, Jean (Bud) Eggert; in-laws, Karen Guelette, James Jilot, Norman Vandetie, Grace (Lawrence) Baudhuin and infant sister-in-law Johanna.

Private memorial services will be conducted at Forbes Funeral Home, the Rev. Christopher Jackson officiating.  On-line condolences may be offered at www.forbesfuneralhome.com
