Elaine Collin

Elaine L. Collin, 90, Dyckesville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 15, 2021.

She was born June 27, 1931, to the late Orbie & Jennie (Vandertie) Everard.  On June 27, 1951, she married Harold J. Collin at St Hubert Church in Rosiere. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2017.

Her life was very busy as she faithfully assisted her husband in the cheese factory, making cheese whenever he needed the extra help. She then went on to get her Brokers License and sold real estate for United Farm Agency for many years. She also worked at the Alpine Country home for 18 years in the laundry department. She was so proud when she started her own business: owning & operating Collins Dynamic Carpet Cleaning with her youngest son Chris when he was only 13 years old. She’s been cleaning carpets for 40 years. And just retired in 2021 at the age of 90.

She loved music and dancing, and even played the Accordion in her younger years. Neighbors often said they heard her singing and yodeling across the field. She even played it for us at her 90th birthday party.

She’s survived by seven children, Jill Jeanquart, Don Collins, Diane (Greg) Dorner, Dave  (Special friend Rhonda) Collins, Janet Lemens (Special friend Bob), Mike (Vicky) Collin, Chris (Shelly) Collin; 17 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; three step-great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorraine LaLuzerne; four sisters-in law and two brothers in law, Bernice Krohn, Judy Heuer-Weston, Alvin (Dorothy) Martin, Jim (Diane) Martin.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Harold; one son in law, Ken Jeanquart; her parents, Orbie & Jennie Everard; two sisters and two brothers in law, Irene Everard, Arlene (Richard) Derenne. Erwin LaLuzerne; three brothers in law and one sister in law, Carl (Ardella) Collins, David Heuer, Clarence Krohn; her fathers in law & mother in law, Norris Collin, Jennie and Steven Martin.

Friends may call between 9:00 and 11:00 am on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at St. Louis Church, Dyckesville.  Funeral 11:15 am on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at the church.
