Eileen W. Hamachek

Eileen W. Hamachek, age 102, formerly of Kewaunee, died on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at Autumn’s Promise Assisted  Living in Green Bay.  She was born on February 4, 1919 in Slovan,WI to the late Louis and Mary (Sisel) Worachek.  She grew up on the family farm in Slovan and attended local schools.  She married Richard L. Hamachek on August 8, 1941 and he preceded her in death on April 16, 1998.

They lived in Boston and Long Beach, CA while Richard served in the U. S. Navy.  After the War they returned to Kewaunee, WI where Richard worked at the family business, the Hamachek Machine Company.

She was a member of Community Congregational Church where she was an active volunteer in the community, the Kewaunee Area Memorial Hospital, the hospital auxiliary and Cub Scouts.  Eileen was an avid gardener, loved golfing, skiing, bowling and was a great cook.  Her family and friends were very important to her.  Eileen especially loved her cottage in Door County and wintering in Florida.

Survivors include three children: Sandra Ott, Sturgeon Bay; Mary Kay Hamachek, Green Bay and Paul Hamachek, Green Bay; twelve grandchildren: Mark Hamachek, Brian ( Missy) Hamachek, Ann Hamachek, Jennifer (Calvin) Eis, Kim (Ron) Witak, Kay Holz, Hans (Ellie) Ott, Lance (Special Friend, Ashley) Ott, Michael (Maureen) Hamachek, Nicholas Hamachek, Nathan (Nancy) Hamachek, Jana Hamachek; twenty-two great grandchildren, four great great grandchidren and a sister-in-law: Joyce Worachek.

She was preceded in death by one son: Richard R. Hamachek and his wife, Janice (Borley); three sisters: Dorothy (Elmer) Bruening, Marcella (Charles) Uhlers, Ione Muchowski; one brother: Russel Worachek.

Friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 9, at Community Congregational Church, Kewaunee until the time of services.  The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. John Wallace officiating.  Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
