Dean Robert Hartwig, age 60, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 13th, 2021. He was born on September 26th, 1961 in Sturgeon Bay to the late Sylvester and Erma(Krause) Hartwig. Dean married Julie Mertens on May 26th, 1984 at St. Agnes Episcopal Church, Algoma.
Dean is survived by his wife, Julie; children, Brandon Hartwig, Bellevue, Tasha Hartwig(special friend, Adam Massart), Casco; grandchildren, Corbyn and Porter Hartwig, Brixlee Massart; brothers, Bruce(Dolly) Hartwig, Brussels, Clayton(Kim) Hartwig, Sturgeon Bay; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roy(Vi) Mertens, Mark(Ellen) Mertens, Dennis(special friend Tina) Mertens, Jill(Dave) Fameree; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Erma; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hamlin and Arlene Mertens; brother-in-law, Gary Mertens; niece, Kaylee.
Friends may call at Wiesner-Massart Funeral Home, 1617 Flora Ave., Algoma from 3 to 7pm on Friday, October 15th. Visitation continues at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9 to 11am.
