Millard C. Christianson

Millard Clifford Christianson, 98 of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on November 4, 2021, at Cardinal Ridge CBRF.  He was born on September 7, 1923, in Sturgeon Bay to William and Hannah (Oenes) Christianson.  On June 23, 1951, he married Iris G. Schumacher in Sturgeon Bay, she preceded him in death on June 3, 2005.

Millard worked all his life as an electrician.  He owned an electrician business in Sturgeon Bay for several years.  Millard later went on to work for the State of Wisconsin first at Kettle Moraine Correction Facility in Plymouth and retiring from UW Madison.  After retirement Millard and Iris moved back to Sturgeon Bay in the 1980’s.  Millard loved gardening and collecting antiques. He was especially proud of his 1929 Model A Roadster. Millard was an outgoing person who was very social and loved visiting with people.

Survivors include a son, Chad (Mary) Christianson, Elkhart Lake, WI; four grandchildren , Cassie (Jake) Wiegand Hixson, TN, Abby Healy, Oostburg, WI, Kelsey Abernathy, Madison, WI and Shea Abernathy, Hartford, WI; and six great grandchildren; a sister, June Erhbar, Green Bay, WI; and a son-in-law, Robert Abernathy, Brussels, WI;  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Iris; daughter, Dawn Abernathy; a great-grandson, Brooks Abernathy; two brothers, William (Imogene) Christianson; Merle (Clarice) Christianson and a brother-in-law Ernie Erhbar.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Burial will be in Bayside Cemetery.  Forbes Funeral Home & Cremations is assisting the family.   On-line condolences may be offered at forbesfuneralhome.com
