James "Big Jim" C. Cravillion

James “Big Jim” C. Cravillion, 85, of New Franken, died Friday morning, October 29, 2021, with his family by his side. 

 

He was born in Luxemburg on February 21, 1936, to the late Cyril and Mabel (Jandrin) Cravillion. 

 

He was a 1955 graduate of Luxemburg High School.  On September 14, 1957, Jim married Sherry A. Lemens at Annunciation Catholic Church, Green Bay.

 

 He was employed with Liebman Packing and later being the first employee hired at Packerland Packing of Green Bay. Jim had worked in the meat industry for forty-five plus years.

 

His enjoyments included deer hunting, bear hunting, tending to his Belgian horses, visiting the Amish Community, playing cuyoo, working on his son’s farm, watching the cooking channel and especially helping Terri in the kitchen at Palm Gardens.

 

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Sherry and their two children, Lisa Cravillion, New Franken; Randy (fiance’ Terri) Cravillion, Luxemburg; three grandchildren, Cody (Mindy) Cravillion, Tyler (friend, Amanda) Cravillion, Nic (Katie) Cravillion; seven great-grandchildren, Calvin, Easton, Colin, Chase, Lainey, Aubrey and Ethan; four sisters, Janet Zehren, Sharon (Wayne) McCosky-Raether,  Lila (Bryan) Ellerbrock, Linda (Jerry) Zellner; two sisters in law, Sue Nelis, Jackie Lemens; nieces and nephews

.

Jim was preceded in death by, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Andrew and Tea Lemens; his stepfather-in-law, Gordy Kellner; four brothers in law, Bruce McCosky, Ron Zehren, Ron Nelis, and John Lemens.

 

Friends may call at St. Joseph Church, Champion between 9:00 and 10:45 am on Wednesday, November 3, 2021.  Funeral 11:00 am on Wednesday at the church with Rev. Carlo Villaluz officiating.  Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Champion.
