Mark J. Paider

Mark J. Paider, 92, Luxemburg, entered eternal life early Wednesday morning, November 10, 2021. He is the son of the late Bert and Pauline (Reinke) Paider.  He was born in Luxemburg, September 20, 1929.  He attended St. Mary Grade School in Luxemburg, grades 1 through 8. He graduated from Luxemburg High School in 1948.  He served his country in the United States Army from February 1951 to February 1953. On October 7, 1961, Mark married Elaine Velicer at St. Joseph Church in Pilsen. Mark’s hobbies were gardening, crafts made of wood, listening to “old time” polka music, grafting, pruning and spraying his fruit trees, painting, repairing and maintaining upkeep of their home.  He was an employee of Algoma Hardwoods for thirty- five years, retiring in 1995.  He was a member of St. Mary Church, the Holy Name Society of St. Mary Church, and an usher for 49 years.  He also was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the American Legion Ralph Kline Post 262 of Luxemburg, for thirty-five years. 

Mark is survived by his wife, Elaine and their three children, Rev. Paul Paider, Oneida; Janet and Don Rank and their children Ryan and Rachelle, Manitowoc; Amy and Kevin Albedyll and their children, Maddie and Marisa, Appleton; nieces and nephews; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joan and Tom Arendt, brothers-in-law, Joe and Lloyd Velicer.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by brother, Kenneth (Jane) Paider, sister, Agatha (Ed) Sheffy, sister, Charlotte Frank, sisters in law, Francesca Velicer and Sharon Mulak, niece, Dawn Lauritzen, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Edith Velicer, nephew, Daniel Velicer.

Friends may call at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg, 1412 Main Street, Luxemburg, 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Friday, November 19, 2021.  Visitation will continue between 8:00 and 9:45 am on Saturday November 20, 2021, at St. Mary Church. Funeral 10:00 on Saturday at the church with Rev. Paul Paider officiating and Rev. Daniel Schuster concelebrating.  Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Luxemburg with full military rites at graveside.

In lieu of flowers or plants, a memorial fund to St. Mary School in Luxemburg, will be established.

Mark’s family would like to thank the staff of Algoma Long Term Care for excellent care given to Mark.
