Jerome M. Gaedtke

Jerome Marvin Gaedtke, 73, Luxemburg, went to peace with Jesus on Saturday afternoon November 13, 2021, surrounded by his family after a long battle with Kennedy’s disease.

 Jerome was born April 2nd, 1948, to the late Marvin W. and Norma L. (Kudick) Gaedtke. On November 1st, 1969, Jerome married Wanda Mae Schley at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Montpelier. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Montpelier, where he was baptized and confirmed. Jerome was very involved in the Church and held numerous office positions within the Church, trustee and chairman of the building, committee to remodeling of the Church. He was enrolled in the United States Army Reserves for 7 years, he worked at Krohn Dairy, and Kewaunee Bottling. He was a member of the dairy promo, served as a member of the Kewaunee County FSA Committee, Kewaunee County Co-Op board, and Kewaunee County DHIA board. His most important job was running, operating and owning the fifth generation Gaedtke farm which is now Gaedtke Rolling Hills Dairy Farm, with his wife, children, and grandchildren by his side. They were awarded outstanding farmers of Kewaunee County in 1980 and hosted Breakfast on the Farm in June 2006. He so was so proud to be a farmer.

Jerome took enjoyment in going to Church, spending time with his family, conversations in the farm office, hunting with his family, attending the grandkids sporting and school events and watching them show dairy, beef, and pigs at the Kewaunee County Fair.

Survivors include- his wife of 52 years, Wanda; their children Kim (Duke) Kroll, Kevin (Debbie) Gaedtke, and Scott (Dawn) Gaedtke all of Luxemburg; nine grandchildren; Mercedes, Blake, and Jadelynn Kroll, Hailey and Kiley Gaedtke, and Justin (special friend, Brooke), Jonathon, Alexys (special friend, Preston), and Alisa Gaedtke. Survivors also include one brother-in-law James Schley of Luxemburg and a brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Darlene Dorner of Luxemburg, nieces and nephews.

Jerome is preceded in death by father-in-law and mother-in-law Gilbert and LaVerne Schley; one sister-in-law, Janet Schley and one nephew Adam Schley.

Friends may call Sunday, November 21, 2021, from 3-7 pm with the closing prayer service at 7:00 pm, at St Paul Lutheran Church, Montpelier. Visitation will continue at St Paul Lutheran Church, Montpelier, on Monday November 22,2021, between 9:00 and 10:45 am with the funeral at 11:00 am. Rev. Dr. Daniel Olson officiating.  Burial in St Paul, Montpelier, Cemetery, with military rites at graveside.

Special thanks to Bonnie at Bellin, Kewaunee Clinic, First Responder, Thad, Luxemburg Rescue Squad. Amy Kroll for making his Wednesday’s special. Pastor Olson, for the support he gave the family. Doctor Casey and Sara RN of the Bellin Hospital ER. Most of all he enjoyed the special visits from numerous friends, neighbors and people associated with the family farm. The special visits were uplifting and meaningful to Jerome to brighten his days through the difficult times. A special thank you to all the employees of the family farm who gave support to Jerome, especially, David Siegmund.
