Francis C. Jauquet

Francis C. Jauquet, 95, of Casco, formerly of Namur, passed away on November 29, 2021, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.  He was born August 9, 1926, in Gardner to Frank and Julia (Jadin) Jauquet.  On November 27, 1947, he married Rita D. Delfosse in Namur; she preceded him in death on November 13, 2019.

Francis worked as a foreman for Peterson Builders Inc. in Sturgeon Bay for many years.  He had also been employed by Basten Construction.

Francis was known for making great booyah and trout boils.   He served as the Constable for the Town of Union for many years.  He was a very social person who enjoyed talking to everyone wherever he went.  He also loved fishing, especially ice fishing in the later years.

As a jack of all trades, Francis spent a lot of time tinkering with small engines.  He could fix or craft almost anything.  He enjoyed many years of Breakfast Club at the Sweet Seasons in Dykesville.  More recently, he could be found at his two favorite “hang outs” the Village Kitchen and the Belgian Delight with his friend Mike Gilson or with his family on Sunday mornings.

Survivors include four children, Joan (Dennis) Brahmer, Wittenberg; Mary Ann (Jeff) Miller, Sturgeon Bay; Lisa Jauquet, New Franken; and Kris Jauquet, Brussels; seven grandchildren, Julia (Jay) Wilkins, Haley (Joe) Kessler, Kory Miller (Erin Schartner), Jolene Buhk, Kale, Kollin and Aubrey Jauquet; four great-grandchildren, Reed and Finley Wilkens, and Jovie and Mazie Kessler; one brother, Alvin (Rena) Jauquet; and in-laws, Carol Parins, Lucy Jauquet, and Emery Vandenhouten.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers, George (Verna) Jauquet, and John Jauquet; four sisters, Jenny (Roland) Delfosse, Josie (Bill) Destree, Ida (James) Alsteen, and Florence (Earl) VandenAvond; in-laws, Alex Parins Jr., and Janice Vandenhouten.

Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay on Saturday Dec. 4, 2021, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.   Private entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. On-line condolences may be offered at www.forbesfuneralhome.com
