Violet Lillian (Nell) Allyn, 94, Algoma, passed away at Woodside Lutheran Home in Green Bay on December 10, 2021. Vy was born on November 16, 1927, to the late Frederick and Lillian (Miller) Nell. She married Harmon Allyn on November 6, 1948, at St. Paul’s in Algoma, He preceded her in death on June 23, 2018. Vy owned Allyn’s Dresses and Sportswear, and along with her husband, for over 70 years they owned and operated the Algoma Cleaners and Allyn's Coin Laundry. Vy was a member of the St. Paul’s Ladies Aid and in her spare time loved spending time with her family and
traveling.
Vy is survived by her daughter, Ann (John) Emery of Green Bay; grandchildren, Jenny Emery, Allyn (Cristi) Emery; great-grandchildren, Eden and Traverse; brother, Darold Nell; family friend, Del Nell; as well as by nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon; infant son, Chuckie; brother, Dayton Nell; and sister, Eileen (Merlin) Spaid.
Visitation will take place at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church – Algoma, on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am with Pastor John Moll and Pastor Joel McKenney officiating. Burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
