Paula K. (Mathu) Sinkula

Paula K. (Mathu) Sinkula, 66, Luxemburg, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021, peacefully surrounded by her family after a 3 ½ year battle with endometrial cancer.

 

She was born September 5, 1955, to the late Joseph C. and Beatrice M. (Conard) Mathu.

On July 31, 1976, she married Paul Sinkula at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Sugarbush. Together they raised three children and enjoyed 45 years of marriage.

 

Paula enjoyed a career in the Title Insurance business for 37 years before her retirement in January of 2016. Paula was an active member of St. Mary Parish and Christian Mother Society of St. Mary Parish in Luxemburg. She enjoyed traveling with friends, watching sporting events, trips to the casino and, most importantly, spending time with her family.   

 

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Paul and their three children, Emilie (Ira) Levinson and their child William, Minneapolis; Laura (Scott) Walczyk and their children Karsyn, Nolan and Maisyn, Luxemburg; Jacob Sinkula, Milwaukee; sisters, brothers and spouses, Myra Tlachac, Carl (Judy) Mathu, Genial (Ellen) Mathu, Linda (Dave) Jadin; Bernadine Mathu; sisters in law and brothers in law, Robert (Sharon) Sinkula, Carol Sinkula, Dale (Debra) Sinkula, Steven (Julie) Sinkula, and many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sylvester and Dorothy (Kaiser) Sinkula; brother Gerald Mathu; sisters and brothers-in-law, Elaine and Larry Wery, Marianne and Harley Greatens, James Tlachac.

 

Friends may call 3:30 to 6:30 pm on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg.  Parish prayer service 6:30 pm on Wednesday with Deacon Bob Miller.  Visitation will continue between 9:00 and 10:45 am at St. Mary Church on Thursday, December 30, 2021.  Funeral 11:00 am at the church with Rev. Daniel Schuster officiating.  Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Luxemburg.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Paula’s name.

 

The Family would also like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff and doctors at Aurora Vince Lombardi Cancer Center and Unity Hospice. Most importantly we would like to thank Linda and her family for all of their love and support.

 

Paula’s children would like to express their immense gratitude to Dad for the love and care he provided to Mom.
