Pauline Gertrude McFarlin 91, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on December 27, 2021, at Unity Hospice in DePere.  She was born on May 20, 1930, on Washington Island to Bjorn and Clara (Hanson) Gunnlaugsson.  On May 9, 1950, she married Rubin R. McFarlin on Washington Island, he preceded her in death on August 3, 2006.  Pauline loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She also loved playing any kind of card game.

Survivors include four children, James (Mary) McFarlin, Sturgeon Bay; Michael (Jennifer) McFarlin, AZ; Patti (Charles) Balestrieri, Sturgeon Bay; and Robert McFarlin, Sturgeon Bay; eleven grandchildren, Beth, Shari, Clint, Danielle, Hope, Amy, Anna, Mario, Kendall, Callen, and Cheyanne; twenty great-grandchildren; two brothers, Nathan (Karen) Gunnlaugsson, Sheboygan; Orin Gunnlaugsson, Sturgeon Bay; two sisters, Angeline Gauger, Sturgeon Bay; Rosalie Gunnlaugsson, Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded by her parents; husband; eleven brothers and sisters; and nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held at a later date.  Inurnment will be a Bayside Cemetery.  Forbes Funeral Home is assisting the family.  On-line condolences may be offered at forbesfuneralhome.com
