John "Roger" Robinson

John "Roger" Robinson, 84, Algoma, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.  He was born July 10, 1937 in Chicago, IL. to John W. and Virginia (Payne) Robinson.  
As a young man his family moved to Rio Creek.  Roger starting working as a teenager at Raton Church Furniture Co. after his dad was hurt in an accident.  Then he worked at Hamilton Manufacturing in Two Rivers for a few years.  Then he worked at the US Plywood in Algoma and ended his working career at Bay Ship Builders.  He did work at Wisconsin Screen Graphics for a short time and also worked part time at Post TV and Appliance and then J & B Appliance for Jerry and Bev Schley.


Roger's greatest hobbies were hunting and perch fishing, especially at Chaudoir's dock.
Roger married Judith Chaudoir at St. Mary's of the Snow Catholic Church in Namur on Memorial Day, May 30, 1960.


He is survived by his loving wife, Judy, son John Lawrence, two daughters Lynn (Gary) Clark and Barbara (Steve) Bathke; three grandchildren Jessica (Martin) Flores, Katie (Jeremy) Roman and Robert (Maggie) Clark; five great-grandchildren Ethan and Rosalynn, Johnathan and Elijah and Emma Rae; honorary daughter Peggy(Mark)Klapperich and their family and honorary granddaughter, Jenny, who as a great registered nurse made it possible for Roger to have his last two days at home; brother Bob (Sandy) Robinson, brother-in-law Nick Wasilkoff, many nieces, nephews and cousins.


He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother-in-law Pat (Jim) Fenske and Peggy Wasilkoff, and brother-in-law Harvey Massart.
There will be a public visitation, Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the Schinderle Funeral Home, Algoma, from 3:00 PM until the time of services at 7:00 PM with Father Alvan Amadi officiating.


The family wants to give a special thank you to Unity Hospice for making his last days comfortable.


In Lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society in Roger's name.
