Dean E. Karnopp

Dean E.  Karnopp, 65, Luxemburg, died peacefully on Thursday morning, May 12, 2022.  He was born April 30, 1957, to the late Elton and Vernis (Gaedtke) Karnopp.  On November 26, 1983, he married Shelley A. Shilbauer at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montpelier.  He loved playing the drums with many local polka bands, he will be greatly missed.

Dean is survived by his wife, Shelley, his children, Chalsee Karnopp, Green Bay; Jacob Karnopp, New Franken; extended family, Brett Boehm, Milwaukee; Lindsay, Marathon; Dave, Ocala, Florida.  He is further survived by three brothers, Nolan (June) Karnopp, Arlin (Mary Lou) Karnopp and Niel (Brenda) Karnopp:  two sisters-in-law, Gay Pivonka and Sandy Minger, both of Green Bay; one brother-in-law, William Shilbauer, New Franken; many nieces and nephews.  Special friends, Brittany (Jeremiah), Tyler (Brittni) and Melissa (James).

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Elton Karnopp and Vernis Karnopp-Kudick; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clifford and Ruth Shilbauer; one brother, Merle Karnopp; two brothers-in law, Adrian Pivonka, Lee Shilbauer, one sister-in-law, Bell Shilbauer, one nephew, Richard Pivonka.

Friends may call between 9:30 to 11:45 am on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Montpelier.  Memorial Service 12:00 (noon) on Tuesday at the church, with Rev. Dr. Daniel Olson officiating.

McMahon Funeral Home, Luxemburg, is assisting the Karnopp Family.
