Allen E. Kolberg, 75 years of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at his home Sunday evening, September 11, 2022 peacefully in the arms of his dear wife and family, four short months after being diagnosed with cancer.

He was born January 26, 1947, in Milwaukee the son of the late Erwin and Evangeline “Penny” (Haack) Kolberg.      On August 31, 1987, he married Bonnie Kaye Grovogel at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. They enjoyed traveling together, spending time with family and friends. Al was 100% camper and for many decades they enjoyed weeks and weekends at Frontier Wilderness in Door County. Al loved to work on cars for fun or performance racing at Thunder Hill Racing, where he was a formidable driver, and served as pit steward.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Bonnie; four children, Robin (Jodi Hruska) Strege, Julie Zastrow, Janese Wyman, Brad Strege; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and stepfather, Roger Bosman; two brothers, Jeffery, and Frederick Kolberg.

A celebration of Al’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Huehns Funeral Home.
