Victoria L. Link

Victoria Lynn Link, 68, of Brussels, formerly of West Allis, passed away late Saturday afternoon, September 10, 2022 at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay.

She was born April 25, 1954 in Milwaukee, the daughter of James Piloton Barroga and Restitita “Rita” Ablen (Focson) Barroga. Vicki grew up near N. 77th Street and W. Carmen Avenue in the Silver Spring neighborhood on the northwest side of Milwaukee. She grew up attending Holy Angels Parish and School. Vicki graduated from James Madison High School and went on to study nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she earned her bachelor’s degree. As a registered nurse, she cared for patients in emergency rooms, heart surgery, and eventually kidney dialysis at Froedert. She retired as an RN staff-level 4.

Vicki met Christopher David Link on a blind date, and they were married on September 10, 1983 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in West Allis. They lived together in West Allis until 2019 when they moved to Brussels in Southern Door County.

Vicki and Chris were blessed with over 39 years of marriage. Together, they enjoyed gardening and taking care of their home. Roses, lilies, and lavender plants were just a few of the flowers that could be found in her garden. Vicki had love for animals and volunteered as a docent at the Milwaukee County Zoo. She was so proud to put on her uniform and share her love of animals, especially the big cats, with the zoo visitors. Vicki had an appreciation for folk music and other styles of music that began earlier in life when she sang harmony with her family in a Hawaiian band at Leilani restaurant in Brookfield.

She will be missed by her husband, Chris; three siblings, Jeanne (Tony) Williams of San Francisco, CA, Ken Barroga of Seattle, WA, Norita (Richard) Hewlett of Duvall, WA; brother-in-law, Patrick (Molly) Link of Alhparett, GA; and other relatives.

Vicki was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mryna (Martin) Schultz; sister-in-law, Teresa Link; and other relatives.

No public services will be held.

Huehns Funeral Home, Inc. & Door County Crematory LLC in Sturgeon Bay are caring for Vicki and her family. Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Vicki may be shared with her family through her tribute page at www.huehnsfuneralhome.com.
