William J Warwick Sr, 84, of Sturgeon Bay passed away in Marinette, WI, Saturday, March 4, 2023. William was born in Sturgeon Bay, May 18, 1938, to Wendell and Adeline (Hoerres) Warwick. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1956. On May 14, 1960, he married Sally Jacobe and they raised five children. He truly was a “jack of all trades” working for the Hamilton Manufacturing Co in Two Rivers and Roen Steamship Co in the early ‘60’s where he became a master navigator of the Great Lakes. He worked for Lampert Yards (formerly Burns Brother’s Lumber) as well as served his city as a fireman. He was a highly skilled carpenter working on many projects all over Door County including Wyndemere Condominiums, Harbor Village, and many private residences. He also worked for Alpine Resort as a groundskeeper/handyman. He enjoyed helping others when he could meeting up with friends at Birmingham’s Bar and Restaurant for one of Brad’s Brandy Old Fashioned’s.
William is survived by his sons, Scott and Chris; daughters, Toni and Corrina; grandchildren: Mark, Kayla, and Tylesia; and great-grandchildren: MJ, Benny, Adeline, and Amara; brother, David (Sue)Warwick; sisters, Irene (Bob) Grey and Theresa (Dan) Mathews; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, William Jr; sister, Diane; and second wife, Linda.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family.
