Dorothy M. Garceau

Dorothy M. Garceau, age 91, of Two Rivers passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, Tuesday evening, April 4, 2023 at Meadow View Assisted Living.  She was born on May 13, 1931 to Stanley and Lovella (Natzke) Tisler.  On June 20, 1953 Dorothy married Roger Garceau at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Two Rivers.  He preceded her in death on February 26, 1975.

 

Dorothy and her husband were foster parents for many years.  She worked at Manitowoc Equipment Works, retiring in 1993.  Dorothy enjoyed playing cards with her friends and family.  She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as Granny.  Dorothy was a life-long member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Two Rivers.

 

Dorothy is survived by her three sons and their families:  David (Mary) Garceau, Brussels, and their children Tonya (Ryan) Euclide, Amanda (Keith) Nelson, Jesse (Sherry) Garceau; Steven (Lila) Garceau, Two Rivers, and their children Scott (Amanda) Garceau, Kevin (Danielle) Garceau; Ralph (Paula) Orr, Brussels and their children Jennifer Orr (special friend David Hanson), Bruce Orr (fiancée Allison Hensley); great-grandchildren:  Logan and Riley Euclide, Nathaniel, Faith, David and Isaac Nelson, Danica and Asher Garceau, James and Hailey Dennis; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Roger, parents Stanley and Lovella Tisler, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Edmund (Marilyn) Garceau, Bill (Dorothy) Garceau, Robert (Lorraine) Garceau; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law; Alice (Gene) Ducat; Charlotte Garceau; special uncle and aunt Clarence and Evie Beaver and special friends Laverne Schramm and Judy Kuhl.

 

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church (3607 45th Street), Two Rivers with the Rev. David Arndt officiating.  Visitation will be on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the services.  Burial will follow services at Forestview Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Dorothy’s family would like to extend a special Thank You to the entire staff of Meadow View Assisted Living, especially Stephanie, who was her “favorite” along with Nicole and Joanne from Heartland Hospice (Promedica) for the wonderful, loving care that was provided to Mom and the family.  Also Thank You to Pastor Arndt and Pastor Kruschel for all the visits and support you have offered.  You have all been a blessing to Dorothy and the family.

 

Dorothy would like to be remembered for her love for her family and the Lord.
