David I. Hafeman

David I. Hafeman, 91, peacefully passed away on April 19, 2023, at Kewaunee  Health Services due to Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born October 11, 1931, in  Algoma to the late Otto and Esther (Iwen) Hafeman. Dave graduated from  Algoma High School in 1949. Dave was a self-employed electrician (Hafeman  Electric) until his retirement. On October 19, 1963, Dave married Judy Pavlat at  St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Algoma. Dave enjoyed many travels, especially to  Mexico. 

Dave is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy; nieces, Lois (John) Albertson, Sue  (Ron) Paschke, Patti (Bob) Poe, Jackie Snow; special friend Ann Haas; and brother-in-law, Rudy (Diane)  Pavlat. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter Liza; his parents; Ann’s husband Paul; brother,  Ralph (Mary); niece, Becky Jeanquart and her children, Holly and Jason; in-laws, Arthur and Dorothy  Pavlat; and brother-in-law, Bob (Lois) Pavlat. 

A special thank you to all of the staff at Kewaunee Health Services for the wonderful care given to Dave.  And, also to Compassus for their care, especially Craig who was so good with Dave. Special thanks to  Pastor Brewer for all his compassionate care and visits. 

Per Dave’s request, there will be no service, cremation will take place and a private burial will be held.  Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services – Casco is assisting the family. Online condolence messages may be  shared at KinnardFCS.com.
