Daren Michael Dexheimer

Daren Michael Dexheimer, 51, of the Town of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at home on Monday, May 15, 2023.

He was born January 13, 1972 at Door County Memorial Hospital in Sturgeon Bay, the son of Arvin Gustave Dexheimer and Judith Marie (Haen) Dexheimer. Daren grew up attending Saints Peter and Paul Parish and School in Institute where he received the Sacraments of Baptism and First Holy Communion. He attended Sevastopol High School and was on the wrestling team. Upon graduating from Sevastopol in 1990, Daren enrolled in HVAC classes through Northeastern Wisconsin Technical College in Sturgeon Bay and Green Bay. He began working as an HVAC installer for Wulf Brothers Inc. in Sturgeon Bay soon after and was currently employed there. Daren also worked for Palmer Johnson Yachts in Sturgeon Bay.

On February 14, 1997, he married Michelle Lee Page (Wildenberg). They were blessed with two daughters: Summer and Taylor and shared over 13 years of marriage.

Daren was always working and fixing things, even when he wasn't actually working. His love for sports that began in school, continued into adulthood. When Daren wasn't biking for triathlons, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, cruising in his convertible with Rover, and spending Sundays working on small engines with his daughter, Taylor. His favorite route was usually on Glidden Drive. Those who knew Daren, knew what a soft-hearted and sensitive person he was. He was an animal lover and was especially fond of his dog, Rover, that he shared with his daughter, Summer.

Daren will be forever missed by two daughters, Summer (Joseph "Joey" Sr.) Munao of Combined Locks and Taylor (Erin Gajewski) Dexheimer of Luxemburg; grandson, Joseph "JJ" Munao, Jr.; best friend, Michelle Wildenberg of Luxemburg; parents, Arvin and Judi Dexheimer of the Town of Sevastopol; four siblings, Craig (Nancy) Dexheimer of New Franken, Blane (Amy) Dexheimer of Brookfield, Darci (Bill) Zingrabe of Naperville, IL and Debra Dexheimer of Durham, NC; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his uncle, Daniel Haen, whom he was especially close to; and other relatives.

Daren's life will be honored with a memorial service held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2023 at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay Pastor Gary Scharrig officiating. He will be laid to rest in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in Institute.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Memorials may be given in Daren's name for Wisconsin Humane Society - Door County Campus (3475 Park Drive, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235; 920-746-1111).

Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Daren may be shared with his family through his tribute page at www.huehnsfuneralhome.com.
