She especially enjoyed meeting relatives in Norway, Sweden, and Switzerland. Mary maintained an avid interest in genealogy and family history throughout her life. She briefly served as a substitute organist at Tanum Forest Lutheran Church in the Town of Clay Banks, Sturgeon Bay, WI. Mary also served for several years on the boards of the Shiloh Church Lot and Cemetery Association in Sturgeon Bay and the Welsh Club of the Milwaukee Area.
