Marcella (Bley) Giesseman

Marcella Giesseman, 90 of Egg Harbor, passed away peacefully early Thursday, May 2, 2024. Marcella was born April 24, 1934 in West Jacksonport to the late August and Lydia Caroline (Herbst) Bley. She attended Farview School and graduated from Sevastopol High School in 1952. On May 19, 1956 she was united in marriage to Donald J. Giesseman at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in West Jacksonport. Don died on May 24, 2008. Marcella worked 29 years for the United States Postal Service with the last 15 years serving as Post Master for Egg Harbor, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in West Jacksonport and the Ladies Aid. Marcella enjoyed knitting and crocheting, playing cards, reading, and watching sports and attending her grandchildren’s school events. Surviving family includes her four children, Craig (Chris) Giesseman of Sturgeon Bay, Don (Gina) Giesseman of Sturgeon Bay, Jean (Bill) Schleicher of West Jacksonport, Arlene (Jim) Junion of West Jacksonport; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, Corey [and his daughter, Parker], Casey (Taylor) [and their son, Beau], Kendell (Jack) Stroehler [and their children, George, Lilly, Hadley, and Lanie], Kelsey (Trent) Krauel [and their children, Kallie and Kassie], Kirk (Kayla) Schleicher [and their children, Jordan and Aurora], Jacob Junion, Sara (John) Laughrin [and their children, Rae, Colette, and Benjamin], Allison (Shaun) Neuman [and their children, Louie, Teddy, and Jayda], Mariah (Jake) Javurek, and Cody Giesseman; two brothers, Dennis (Mary) Bley of West Jacksonport, and Lee Bley of West Jacksonport; sisters-in-law, Susie Jorns of Egg Harbor, and Gail Giesseman of Carlsville; and many dear nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, August and Lydia Bley; husband, Don; grandson, Benjamin Junion; five Bley brothers, Wally (Laverne), Nicholas (Lorna), Gordy (Eunice), Frank (Gloria), Curtis (Francis); and her parents-in-law, Donald and Lena Giesseman; brothers-in-law, Jim Jorns, Robert Giesseman; sisters-in-law, Barb (Joe) Engle, Joyce (Sid) Thiel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church with Pastor Peter Lindemann officiating. Burial beside her husband, Don will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, May 6, 2024 at Huehns Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be given in her memory for Zion Ev. Lutheran Church. Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay is assisting the Giesseman family.
