Lee Bournoville

Lee Bournoville, 84, of Sturgeon Bay passed away on June 23, 2024. He was born Sept. 1, 1939, in Brussels to Harry and Rose (Lampereur) Bournoville. On Nov. 26, 1959, he married Karen Hendricks in Green Bay. After graduating from Brussels High School, Lee took a position at Miller’s Clothing in Sturgeon Bay and later worked for Cihlar Construction. He ended his work career after working at Hatco Corporation for 26 years. Lee was a hard worker. He often took on part-time jobs, while working full time, in order to provide for his family. In his retirement, he enjoyed driving and delivering parts for Car Quest Automotive. Lee was a long time and active member at Corpus Christi Church where he volunteered in numerous capacities. Many years ago, he ran the Corpus Christi Holiday Basketball Tournament and more recently helped in the kitchen during funeral luncheons. He was a past member of the Sturgeon Bay Jaycees, holding numerous leadership roles, and volunteered as a fire fighter for the Sturgeon Bay Fire Department. One of his greatest passions in life was spending time in “his” woods. Lee also loved running, biking, taking Babler Bus Trips with Karen, having coffee at the fire station, and on Thursdays he looked forward to a brat at Marchant’s and happy hour at the Lodge at Leathem Smith. Lee was very proud of his children and grandchildren and enjoyed attending many of their activities and events. Grandpa Lee will always be remembered for warmly encouraging his grandchildren and loved ones to “Keep your nose clean.” Survivors include his wife Karen, 5 children, Bruce (Donna) Bournoville, Usk, Washington, Tina (Jim) Stawicki, Brian (Cheryl) Bournoville, Tammy (Doc) Bundy, and Traci Bournoville, all of Sturgeon Bay; 10 grandchildren, Justin (Maria), Nathan (Miranda), Christopher (Hunter), Lindsey (Cameron), Joe (Tim), Danny, Matthew, Taylor (Dylan), Derrick, and Alex (Sammy); 10 great-grandchildren, Reaghan, Avery, Juniper, Willow, Kylee, Aubrey, Liam, Lila, Auggie, and Nora; sister Diane Baudhuin, in-laws, JoAnn and Bob Breister, Janice Swoboda, Butch and Jan Hendricks, David and Patti Hendricks, and Jackie VanPay. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley Bournoville, brother-in-law Al Baudhuin, and other in-laws. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, June 28, 2024, at Corpus Christi Church. Entombment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Forbes Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. A prayer service is scheduled for 6:30 pm that evening. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday from 9:45 am until 10:30 am when the family will proceed to church for mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name. Our family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Hogan, the compassionate staff and nurses at Door County Medical Center and Unity Hospice for taking such wonderful care of our dad and helping us navigate through this difficult time.
