James Ziccarelli

James Joseph Ziccarelli 89, passed away peacefully at his home in Sister Bay, Wisconsin on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. He was born on November 19, 1934, to the late Nancy and Serafino “Finy” Ziccarelli of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Jim spent time as an altar boy at Holy Rosary in Kenosha and started work at 16 years old, shoveling coal by the Kenosha Harbor. He went into the United States Army for two years and was honorably discharged in 1955. He married Joan Leutner in 1957 and spent his working career with the Kenosha Water and Street Departments, working as a Foreman for a time, retiring after 39 years. Jim loved a good Packer game, hunting, fishing, camping, boating and traveling with his wife and poodle Coco on his Gold Wing motorcycle. Jim and Joan also loved to travel to Orange Beach, Alabama to spend the winter and made many lifelong friends there and in Door County. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joan (Leutner) Ziccarelli of Sister Bay; son, James (Nancy) Ziccarelli of Arkdale, Wisconsin; daughter, Linda (David) Young of Enumclaw, Washington; two granddaughters, Kathryn (Royce) DeVol of Enumclaw, WA and Sarah (Jon) Tracy of Ozark, Alabama; and five great-grandchildren, Reed DeVol, Everett, Wyatt, Quinn and Bowen Tracy; and sister, Rosemary Ruffalo of Kenosha. He was also proceeded in death by three brothers Ralph, Robert and Richard Ziccarelli all of Kenosha. A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Casperson Funeral Home, 2594 S. Bay Shore Dr, Sister Bay. Family and friends may gather to share memories from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jim's name can be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of your choice. The Ziccarelli family would like to extend a special heartfelt Thank You to Unity Hospice.
