Robert A. McFarlin
Robert Allen "Bobby Mac" McFarlin, 67, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida, surrounded by his family. Born on December 5, 1957, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, he was the youngest of five children born to Rubin and Pauline (Gunnlaugsson) McFarlin. Robert graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1976 and began his career at Peterson Builders, later working at Kewaunee Fabrications until his retirement in 2010. Bobby Mac found joy in life’s simple pleasures—fishing with family and friends, enjoying Saturday afternoons on the golf course, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Whether hosting watch parties in his garage or gathering with friends at The Red Room, he created an atmosphere filled with laughter and camaraderie. He had a kind and generous spirit, and his joy and laughter could light up any room. His easygoing and accepting nature made him a friend to all. His memory will be cherished, and his spirit lives on in his children, who inherited his welcoming heart and kindness. He is survived by his children, Kendall Martell (partner Brett Cottrell), Callan (Katrina) McFarlin, and Cheyanne McFarlin (fiancé Lane Samuelson); his grandchildren, Mathew and Jacob Martell, and Delilah and Wyatt Cottrell; his siblings, Jim (Mary) McFarlin, Patti (Charlie) Balestrieri, Larry (Donna) Holmes; and many cherished friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Rubin McFarlin, his mother, Pauline McFarlin, and his brother, Mike McFarlin. A private celebration of life will be held in the coming weeks, with inurnment at the Bayside Cemetery Columbarium. The family expresses its sincere gratitude to Bellin Hospital (Green Bay, WI), Froedtert Hospital (Milwaukee, WI), and Morton Plant Hospital (Clearwater, FL) for their compassionate care and support. To our beloved Bobby Mac: You brought so much laughter and joy to so many, kindness and respect to all. Even when you disagreed, you offered your support; even when you had every right to be heard, you listened. Your selfless spirit exemplified the truly great man you were. Your contagious smile and loving heart touched everyone you knew. For all of this, your children are eternally grateful. Your presence will be deeply missed, but your memory will live on forever. We love you and miss you so much.
