Lynda C. Ciganik
Lynda Carol Ciganik, 76, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Born on July 2, 1948, in Belding, Michigan, to Selma and Paul Outman, Lynda grew up alongside her siblings, Pauly Shenden and Davie Outman, in a home filled with love, curiosity, and a deep appreciation for the wonders of the world. A devoted wife, Lynda shared a lifetime of love and partnership with her husband, Nick Ciganik. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising their children, Meghan and Ted, and delighting in their grandchildren, Abby and Melanie Talmadge, and Claudia and Calvin Ciganik. Lynda dedicated her life to teaching, shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher. Beloved by her students, she had a gift for making learning an adventure, inspiring those she taught to embrace kindness, curiosity, and a love for the natural world. Even years after leaving her classroom, former students sought her out to share how she had changed their lives. Beyond her career, Lynda found joy in gardening, kayaking, and her faith. She saw magic in the everyday—from the fairies and gnomes in the forest to the mermaids of the sea. She lived by the belief that “real women aren’t afraid of cold water” and never let money burn a hole in her pocket. Her lessons extended far beyond the classroom, teaching those around her the importance of compassion, understanding, and embracing life’s simple wonders. A funeral service will be held on March 13, 2025, at First Baptist Church-Sturgeon Bay (610 N 5th Ave, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235). Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Nomi Network at www.nominetwork.org, an organization dedicated to empowering survivors of human trafficking. Lynda’s kindness, wisdom, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who knew her.
