Kristin L. Fulwiler

Kristin L. Fulwiler, 72, Algoma, passed away, Friday, May 23, 2025, at the Jack and Engrid Meng Hospices Residence after a courageous battle with Parkinson's with her family at her side. She was born August 25, 1952, in Algoma to Roy and Irene (Kolstad) Koss. Kris graduated from the Algoma High School in 1970 and then graduated from the University of Eau Claire as an Art Educator. Kris married Terry Fulwiler, May 15, 1976, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Algoma. Kris worked at Meyer Jewelers in Green Bay for 20 years. She was a lover of horses and has had one since she was six years old. She feel in love with the Friesians Breed and started training and breeding them. This breed comes from Holland. Kris was one out of only two non-Dutch people to be awarded being able to judge these horses. She is a retired International Judge for the Royal Friesian Horse. Kris and Terry founded the Starry Night Friesians in Algoma. She was also involved in the Parrelli Horse shows. She was a dedicated 3-star Licensed Parelli Professional since 2011. She served on the Parelli Board of Directors and the Parelli Education Institute. Kris also had a love for all animals including her dogs and cats. She was a Green Bay Packer fan and attended almost every home game in the last 50 years. Kris is survived by her husband Terry, two sisters Kay (Eugene) Nemetz, Karen (Ron) Koelling and brother Kelly (Cindy) Koss; mother-in-law Kitty Fulwiler, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Sara (Tom) Hahn, Dave Fulwiler, Dan (Mary) Fulwiler, Russ (Kathy) Fulwiler and Mary (Tom) Grovogel; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law Ray Fulwiler, and sister-in-law Kay Fulwiler. Family and friends may gather at the Fulwiler Fieldhouse in the Algoma High School, 1715 Division Street, Algoma, Sunday June 1, 2025, from 12:00 PM until the time of services at 5:00 PM. Followed by sharing memories of Kris with people who are at the service. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy the family would like memorials to go to The Fiends of the Ahnapee State Trail in memory of Kris. The family wants to give a special thank you to all of Kris's home caregivers, including, Vicki, Sue, Shelby and Jessica; Unity Hospice, including, Allison, Heather and Jennifer, Algoma Fire and Rescue and the entire staff at the Jack and Engrid Meng Hospice Residence for all the kindness and care given to Kris and her family.
