Carol Ruth Michelsen, 82, of the Town of Egg Harbor, passed away Easter Sunday afternoon, April 5, 2026, at The Court at Eden Vista in the Village of Allouez with family at her side.
She was born March 16, 1944 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of Norman Frederick Anschutz and Ruth Marion (Bley) Anschutz. Carol grew up attending Farview Grade School and Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, both in West Jacksonport. She graduated from Sevastopol High School with the class of 1962.
Carol married Thomas "Tom" Harry Michelsen on November 13, 1965 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church. She initially worked as a secretary at the Door County Courthouse in Sturgeon Bay. Carol's Primary working career was in housekeeping and cleaning. She started housekeeping at Egg Harbor Lodge and continued as head housekeeper at Evergreen Hill Condos for 20+ years. When she wasn't cleaning, Carol enjoyed baking. She was a wonderful baker, and her crazy cake was definitely a family favorite.
Carol will be missed by her husband, Tom; children, Thomas (Cindy) Michelsen, Julie Michelsen, both of the Town of Egg Harbor, and Sara Michelsen of Sturgeon Bay; grandchildren, William and Elli Michelsen, Caitlin and Christian Weber, and Jovan Michelsen and Kaliyah Joseph; sister, Kaye Hilander of Ellison Bay; cousins; and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings-in-law, Dale "Cousy" Hilander, Patricia (John) Heiden, and Joan (Don) Grotzke, and Ray Michelsen; and other relatives.
Carol will be laid to rest beside her parents in Zion Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in West Jacksonport, 6627 Memorial Drive, Egg Harbor, WI 54209 with a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 with Pastor Scott Miller officiating.
