Richard A. Gabriel

Richard ”Dick” A Gabriel, age 83, Luxemburg, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Autumn Fields Senior Living, Luxemburg.

Dick was born on October 12, 1942, in Algoma to Richard T. and Mary R. (Strnad) Gabriel. He graduated from Casco High School class of 1960. He served his country in the United States Army Reserves. Dick began his career at Peterson Builders in Sturgeon Bay and finished it as a Foreman in the rendering plant at Packerland Packing in Green Bay.

Dick married Ann C. Dillenburg on August 14, 1965, at Holy Trinity Church in Casco and together they raised four daughters. In his younger years he enjoyed running beagles and was also a member of the Luxemburg Sportsman Club. He loved Lake Michigan and was a successful sport fisherman on his beloved boat, the Annie-O.

Dick is survived by his wife of 60 plus years Ann; their daughters Cheryl (Jim) Staszak, Pulaski; Michelle (Dave) Seidl, Luxemburg; Sue (Darren) LaLuzerne, Davenport, FL; and Vicki (Karl) Allen, Luxemburg. He is further survived by sixteen grandchildren, Tyler, (Emilie) Jauquet, Nathan (Kailyn) Jauquet, Hailey (Will) Mathee, Mitchell (Danielle) Staszak, Brianna (Cody) Cortez, Justin (Kristi) Seidl, Jordan (Kim) Seidl, Destiny (Jake) Desotell, Jarrett (Alex) Seidl, Alex, Alison, Erin and Kyle LaLuzerne, Brayden, Bryce and Aubrey Allen and sixteen great-grandchildren Evan, Jamison, Myles, Henry, Harry, Ophelia, Cormac, Cody, Gracie, Ace, Andi, Maddy, Jett, Karson, Alivia and 3 expected in the near future. He is further survived by his brother, Greg (Terrie) Gabriel; and two sisters, Mary Wery and Linda Wehausen as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Msgr. James Dillenburg, Mary Hanrahan, Nancy (Jim) Dubois and Mark (Sue) Dillenburg. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mary Gabriel; one grandson Brett Jauquet, two younger brothers, Joe Gabriel and Jeffrey Gabriel; three brothers-in-law John Wery, Pat Hanrahan, Jim Wehausen; as well as niece Katie Wehausen and nephew Matthew Wehausen.

Friends may call at St. Mary Church, Luxemburg between 9:00 and 10:45 a.m., Thursday July 9, 2026. Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. on Thursday with Msgr. James Dillenburg officiating. Burial in St. Mary cemetery, Luxemburg.
