Mackenzie S. Tomes-Buchberger, 32 of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Monday evening at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay following a short illness. She was born on May23, 1994 in Sturgeon Bay, daughter of Katie (Mark) Smith and Marty Bielke. Mackenzie was a graduate of Sevastopol High School with the class of 2012. On June 25, 2022 she married Noah Buchberger in Plum Lake, Wisconsin. Mackenzie was employed as a bank teller with Capital Credit Union in Sturgeon Bay. She was a caring and loving mother. Mackenzie was a very giving, selfless person always willing to help anyone in need. If you were a friend, you were family. She was always dedicated and hard-working when she put her time and effort into something. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Mackenzie is survived by her loving husband: Noah Buchberger; her children: Madyson, Amiah and Jaydon; Her parents: Katie (Mark) Smith and Marty Bielke; brothers and sisters: Logan Smith (Mackenzie), Courtney Tomes, Noah Smith (Mya), Caitlyn Smith, Trevor Lautenbach (Chris), grandmother: Susan (Dan) Lalko; a nephew: Zaldin, and a niece: Mazeley; special uncle and aunt: Brian and Sara Tomes; many other aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by an infant son: Wyatt; and her grandfather: Ronald Tomes. Visitation for Mackenzie will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Forbes Funeral Home and Cremations, 319 W Spruce St. from 1:00 PM until the time of services at 4:00 PM. Officiating at the funeral service will be Rev. Joe Pytleski. Cremation will take place following services.
