Christopher P. Graf, 65, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at Aurora Baycare Medical Center with his sister and other family and friends by his side on Saturday, August 1, 2026. He was born on September 17, 1960 in Sturgeon Bay, son of the late Darrel and Sheila (Paul) Graf. Chris grew up in Sturgeon Bay, and a life on the water called to him. Chris was a free spirit who traveled the world. He built a life around the water, sharing his passion with family, friends, and anyone eager to learn. He had an indistinguishable laugh you could hear from down the dock. A gifted mechanic and craftsman, he had an exceptional ability to restore and refit boats, and he was always willing to lend his knowledge and expertise to others in the yachting community. He also loved skiing with family and friends. For many years, come the beginning of August, you could find Chris working alongside his family, and friends at the Door County Fish Boil tent at the Wisconsin State Fair, a tradition he cherished. Survivors include his three children: Nichole Graf, Mitchell (Callyn) Graf, Spencer Graf; former wife of 20 years & friend/mother of his children: Sandra Ames; one sister: Lisa (Michael) Graf-Miller; two nieces: Alysan (Weston) Anderson, and Marissa Graf; a grandniece: Nora Anderson; many cousins, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Darrel and Sheila Graf; and his grandparents: Earl and Shirley (LaPlant) Paul, and Werner and Martha (Ferron) Graf. Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be held at Beach Harbor on September 11, 2026.
