Rose Mary Schopf, 89, formerly of Carlsville, passed away early Monday morning, July 27, 2026 at Sturgeon Bay Health Services. She was born on St. Patrick's Day (March 17) in 1937, the daughter of Ernest Charles Stoeger and Lucille Agnes (Ehlers) Stoeger. Rose Mary grew up attending Saints Peter and Paul School in Institute where she received the Sacraments of Holy Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation. She graduated from Sevastopol High School with the class of 1955. Though Rose Mary knew Roger William Schopf as a neighbor and friend, it was Roger's quiet patience and steadfast devotion that gradually won her heart. While she occasionally dated others, Roger never gave up hope, often waiting to visit with her when she returned home. In time, Rose Mary agreed to a date, and that simple beginning grew into a lifelong love. They were united in marriage on June 1, 1957, at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where they were lifelong members. Rose Mary and Roger were blessed to share over 68 years of marriage. Rose Mary and Roger were quite a team. In addition to caring for her family, Rose Mary worked right alongside Roger on their dairy farm in Carlsville and partnered with him in the insurance business for over 30 years. As a lifelong parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Rose Mary was an active member of the Christian Mothers and the Carlsville Band. She was also deeply involved in her community, serving with the Carlsville Homemakers, a leader for the Carlsville Cloverleaf 4-H Club, and faithfully working as a poll worker for many years. Rose Mary and Roger shared a love of travel, creating treasured memories together in places such as Kissimmee, Florida, the Bahamas, and Branson, Missouri. They also enjoyed snowmobiling during the winter as members of the Pioneer Trailblazers Snowmobile Club. An avid bowler, Rose Mary participated in both a women's league and a couples league at Apple Valley Lanes in Sturgeon Bay. She also loved playing cards and cherished the time spent around the table, whether enjoying sheepshead with friends, 500 rummy with Roger, or a quiet game of solitaire. Rose Mary's family meant everything to her. Her love will live on in the hearts of her children, Steve Schopf of Sturgeon Bay, Dennis (Roxanne) Schopf of Carlsville, Douglas (Bridget) Schopf of Carlsville, Patricia (Kevin) Fehl, and Dale (Jeanne) Schopf, both of Sturgeon Bay; grandchildren, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Schopf, Brandon (Jamie) Schopf, and Adam (Dana) Schopf, Ryan (Jena) Schopf, Robby (Meg Nellis) Schopf, and Robynn (Sam Fuller) Schopf, Derek (Kayla) Schopf, Zachary (Ella) Schopf, and Skyler (Sage) Schopf, Amber Fehl and Kyle (Sarraea) Fehl, and Mackenzie Schopf and Madeline Schopf; great-grandchildren, CJ and Chloe Schopf, Kaiden, Keagen, and Kinsley Schopf, Liam and Callen Schopf, Slade Nellis-Schopf and Odie Schopf, Cason and Mac Schopf, Hallie and Harper Schopf, Brody Schopf, Kyia, Saylor, and Krew Fehl; twin sister, Carol Kerscher of Valmy; other relatives; and dear friends. Rose Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Chloe Schopf; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Doris Stoeger; brother-in-law, James Kerscher, Sr.; and other relatives. A Mass of Christian Burial will be prayed at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Institute, 4767 E. Dunn Road, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 with Fr. Matthew Rappl as celebrant. Rose Mary will be laid to rest in the St. Joseph Mausoleum in the Town of Sevastopol, beside her husband, Roger. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the church on Wednesday, August 5 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:40 a.m. Memorials may be given in Rose Mary's name to Sunshine Resources of Door County (55 W.
