Dorothy V. Walker

Dorothy V. Walker, 101 of Nasewaupee, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday morning, September 7, 2026 at her home. She was born on July 7, 1925 in New London, daughter of the late Herbert and Gertrude (Meshke) Ohlrogge. On January 12, 1950, she married Charles Walker in Ft. Sheridan, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1999. Dorothy was a military wife for over 27 years. During that time, She and Charles were stationed in Michigan, Germany, Alabama, Alaska, Colorado and back to Alaska. While in Alaska, she was employed as a florist with Barb’s Floral in Anchorage and later at May’s Florist in Sturgeon Bay. Dorothy had a green thumb and could grow any indoor plants. It was not uncommon for her to take a dying plant from somebody else and nurse it back to health. Dorothy loved bowling, playing cards and going to the casino. She also enjoyed cutting hair for family and friends. She is survived by her two children: Jeffery Walker and Karin (Don) Heldmann; one step-daughter: Monika Perry; six grandchildren: Christopher (Ammie), Jessica, Daniel (Kari), Lisa (Domingo), Jason and Luke (Katy); great-grandchildren: Elizabeth (Josh), Carolyn, Delia, Madison “Bubba”, Lili, Anthony, Mason, Noah and Beckett; one great-great-granddaughter: Arya; one brother: Clifford Ohlrogge; one sister: Janet Claflin; one brother-in-law: Charles Pichette. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Walker; her parents: Herbert and Gertrude Ohlrogge; two brothers: Donald Ohlrogge and Herbert ‘Jr.’ Ohlrogge; and one sister: Jane Pichette. Visitation for Dororthy will be held on Monday morning, September 14, 2026 at Salem Lutheran Church, 3339 Co Rd MM from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Officiating at the funeral service will be Rev. Todd Vertz. Burial will be at Schumacher Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Unity Hospice for the exceptional care given to Dorothy and her family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church, 3339 Cty Rd MM, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 or Unity Hospice, 2366 Oak Ridge Circle, De Pere, WI 54115.
