Linda (McLean) Spude, 67, of Sturgeon Bay, born on November 19, 1958, in the picturesque town of Harrisville, Michigan, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Linda's life was a testament to love, laughter, and dedicated service to others. She was the cherished daughter of Mary McLean and the late Angus McLean. She grew up in a home filled with warmth and support. The family relocated from Michigan in the 1960’s, settling North, in Door County. Throughout the years, she shared a close bond with her sister, Diana, and brother-in-law, Mitch Veynovich of Ormond Beach, FL.
A proud alumnus of Southern Door High School, Linda pursued a career driven by her innate compassion and kindness. Her work as a care nurse in the Emergency Room and her dedication to hospice care patients left an indelible impact on countless lives. Her colleagues and patients alike were touched by her professional expertise and the genuine care she provided. Linda's commitment to service extended beyond her professional life.
She was a state certified Firefighter and First Responder at the Southern Door Wisconsin, Volunteer Fire Department. Linda and Peter retired in 2011. Linda served her community for 14 years. Linda had a remarkable gift for bringing joy into the world through her crafts and arts. Her passion for knitting resulted in countless baby blankets gifted to new mothers, each crafted with love and care.
On June 24, 1989, Linda married the love of her life, Peter J. Spude. Together, with her rock, they built a beautiful life with their children, right here in Door County. Linda is also survived by her daughters, Megan Lee Little and Erika Spude. Her son Malcom, and grandsons, Zonel and Zomar. She will be affectionately remembered and honored by The Spude family.
Visitation for Linda will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Forbes Funeral Home, 319 W Spruce St. Sturgeon Bay from 3:00 PM until the time of a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday morning, Sept. 26, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dyckesville from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Rex Palaya. Linda will be laid to rest at the Shrine of the Good Shephard Mausoleum, Green Bay.
