Wayne W. Malvitz, 101 of Forestville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026.
Wayne was born during the height of the Roaring Twenties when a postage stamp was just two-cents! A gallon of gas for your Model-T cost a whopping twenty cents a gallon! And, through it all, Wayne was preparing to witness 101 years of incredible human progress. A full century+ he tackled with grace, love and vigor until his passing.
Wayne was born on June 21, 1925, in Kewaunee to the late William and Hilda Malvitz. Wayne married Dorothy Marie Van Dalen, on September 21, 1946. After marriage they moved to Milwaukee where Wayne worked in heavy construction. In 1962, Wayne and Dorothy moved to Brussels in Door County. After a few years laboring in the Sturgeon Bay shipyard, Wayne shifted gears and was employed by Kewaunee Engineering where he was a member of the Boilermakers Union Local 107. Retiring after 28 years.
Always a hard-working man, Wayne also loved working in the woods, cutting timber using both horses and his trusty, small Caterpillar. In 1970, Wayne built a beautiful home in Forestville where he was a faith-filled member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Not only did he truly love caring for his lawn and garden, but he was also a true woodworking artisan, building several items for his home. And, if that wasn’t enough, to keep even more busy after retirement, he enjoyed driving tractor for Jeff Uecker … for another 28 years! He loved every hour he spent in that cab! In June 2024 Wayne moved into an independent living facility in Green Bay.
Wayne was proceeded in death by his parents, William & Hilda Malvitz; wife, Dorothy Malvitz; son, Gene Malvitz; daughter, Mary Kaye Malvitz; grandson, Curtis Malvitz; brothers, Roy (Carol) Malvitz; Harold (Joyce) Malvitz; sisters, Jeanette (Alois) Brusda (Robert Classon); & Dolly (Ken) Schoenike. Wayne is also now reunited with his beloved Schnauzers Teddy & Sophie. Survivors include his children Gary Malvitz, Denver, Colorado; Kenneth Malvitz, Appleton, WI; David (Donna) Malvitz, Craig, Colorado; Donna (Malvitz) McElroy Danny, Callahan Florida. Grandchildren: Kirk & Tonya, Jacob & Jordan, Clint, Jesse & Shannon. Wayne will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
It’s easy to see that Wayne was the most hard-working person you can imagine. Sunup ’til sundown, he gave his relentless best effort. His favorite saying still resonates with his children: “Well, we can’t get anything done just sitting here … LET’S GO!”
During Wayne’s birth era of the 1920’s, President Coolidge famously said, “No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been rewarded for what he gave.” We lovingly honor Wayne for what he gave … always his best … everything is done … Heaven is now his reward. Rest well faithful servant. You’ve earned it … one-hundred-and one times over!
A visitation for Wayne will be held Monday, Sept. 28th at the Schinderle Funeral Home from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Prayer service at 6:45 PM. Visitation will continue Tuesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Forestville from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dr. Christopher Jackson officiating. Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery in Algoma.
