Garry Allen Richard, age 80, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center from serious injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. Garry was born on February 25, 1946, at Sturgeon Bay Hospital in Sturgeon Bay, WI, to Charles and Genevieve (Cartwright) Richard. He spent his childhood growing up on Horseshoe Bay Farms in Egg Harbor, WI, where he developed a lifelong love for the outdoors. Garry attended Sevastopol High School, where he excelled in both sports and music. Following high school, he attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for a short time before choosing to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. After completing his military service, Garry married Lorraine Brungraber. They were married for 20 years and had two children, Chandall and Robin. Garry later married Chariya Richard, and together they had two children, Amthia Richard and Charles J. "CJ" Richard. At the time of his passing, Garry was living in Suring, Wisconsin, with his wife, Chariya, and son CJ. His daughter, Amthia Richard, lives in Thailand. One of Garry's greatest passions throughout his life was flying. He loved aviation and especially enjoyed flying experimental aircraft, along with the many other airplanes he owned over the years. The freedom of being in the air brought him great enjoyment and remained an important part of his life. Garry also loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He had an adventurous spirit and traveled extensively throughout his life. Wherever his travels took him, Garry had a remarkable ability to find work and make a life for himself, embracing new places and experiences along the way. Garry lived a life filled with adventure, travel, family, and a love for the skies. Those who knew him will remember a man who was willing to explore what was beyond the horizon, whether traveling to a new place, heading outdoors to hunt or fish, or taking to the air in one of the airplanes he loved so much. Garry is survived by his wife, Chariya Richard; his children, Chandall (Curt) Johnson, Robin (Michelle) Richard, Amthia Richard, and Charles J. "CJ" Richard; his grandchildren, Colt Johnson, Deanna (Troy) Krause, Riley Richard, and Kyle Richard; and his great-grandson, Wyatt. He is also survived by his siblings, Nancy Richard, Kim (Russell) Brungraber, Mark (Mary) Richard, Holly (Monica) Richard, and Amy (Robert) Markstrom. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Genevieve Richard; his brother, Leland Richard; his grandson, Michael Lane; nephew Tony Bauer, and niece, Sara Bauer. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026, at 1:00 pm, at Egg Harbor Town Cemetery, 7640 State Highway 42, Egg Harbor, immediately followed by military honors.
