Laurence Clark Day died September 27, 2026. He was 92 years old. Laurie, a family name, grew up in Clayton, WI lived in Ladue for 40 years, and spent his last years in Sturgeon Bay, Door County, WI. His grandmother established Camp Meenahga in Peninsula State Park in 1916, which ran until 1948! After a stint at Gardner Advertising (think Mad Men), he went on to work as a stockbroker and analyst for two NYSE Wall St firms in St. Louis, 1960–1993: G.H. Walker & Co. and Newhard Cook & Co. Laurie was an avid reader, especially history, law, and Supreme Court opinions, with over 500 books in his library. He was a staunch Democrat up-and-down-the-ticket, with an FDR sticker displayed prominently on his car. He had played tennis since age nine and competed in the National Junior Tournament. At Princeton, he was a member of the Colonial Club and the Princeton Triangle Club, performing in the cast and dancing chorus in the ’54–’55 musical show, touring 18 cities and appearing on the Ed Sullivan Show on Nov. 28, 1954. (Annie) Day and Alice Orr Clark; uncle and aunt, Benjamin W. (Benno) Clark (Marjorie Bach); cousin, Stafford Clark; uncle, Clifford Day, Sr.; and former wife, Barbara Bixby Day, mother of his two sons.
