Allen "Satch" Joseph Sacotte

Categories: Obituaries

Allen "Satch" Joseph Sacotte, 85, of Green Bay, passed away Friday night, October 23, 2026 at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay. He was born April 16, 1941 in Sturgeon Bay, the son of Mervin Sacotte and Mayme (Denil) Sacotte. Allen grew up attending Stevenson Pier School in the Town of Gardner and Brussels High School. He was boilermaker with Union Local 107 out of Milwaukee for over 38 years until his retirement in 2000. Allen also owned and operated The Little Brown Jug in the Town of Gardner for a few years. He and Carolyn shared over 10 years of marriage and were blessed with a son, Jason. Their marriage also welcomed Carolyn's three children, Scott, Beth, and Mary Lee, into the family. Anyone who knew Satch, knew what a an easygoing, hardworking person he was. Quick with comeback or a story or as they later became known as Satchisms. His commitment to family was demonstrated over and over again throughout his life. He was always tinkering on projects or making firewood - just as he was the day he died.

Allen will be missed by his children, Jason (Kumah) Sacotte of Little Sturgeon, Scott Hannan of Peshtigo, Elizabeth Lentz of Las Vegas, NV, and MaryLee Hannan of Hobart; grandchildren, Alicia, Mason, and Myles Sacotte, Scott and Alana Hannan, Joshua, Tyler, and Torri Lentz, and Zachary and Elizabeth Hannan; great-grandchildren, Carson and Cooper; other relatives; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mervin Sacotte and Mayme (Albert) Malvitz; former wife, Carolyn (2015); siblings, Llewllyn "Louie" Sacotte, Gloria (Donald) Tebon, Donna Jean (Donald) Lardinois; and other relatives.

A celebration of Allen's life will be held at a later date. He will be laid to rest near family in Stevenson Cemetery in Little Sturgeon. Huehns Funeral Home, Inc. & Door County Crematory LLC are caring for Allen and his family. Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Allen may be shared with his family through his tribute page at www.HuehnsFuneralHome.com.
