Sevastopol fell to Oconto 60-51 in varsity girls basketball Tuesday. The Pioneers led 27-21 at halftime but saw that lead evaporate in the second half. Zoe Kuehn scored an impressive 20 points to lead Sevastopol in one of the single-game high scoring efforts in the past decade. Amber Roalkvan added 13 points in the loss.
Algoma fell hard to Green Bay West 76-24 in a non-conference game. The Wolves are working out the early season kinks in preparation for what should be a very close race in the Packerland this season. Coach Mark Zastrow always seems to get the most out of the talent he has on the court every year.
Southern Door is proving they might be the team to beat again this year in the conference. The Eagles soared past N.E.W. Lutheran 65-51. Hailey Shimon scored a game-high 24 points to lead the way for Southern Door. Tehya Bertrand added 15 points in the victory. N.E.W. was led by Afton Wagner with 14 points and Grace Scholtz with 13 points.
