Gibraltar girls' basketball coach wants to compete for a conference championship

By Connor Harbit

Following a 15-8 season a year ago, Gibraltar girls’ basketball head coach Josh Kropuenske views his Vikings as one of the top four teams in the Packerland Conference. Coming off a third-place finish in conference play a year ago behind Kewaunee and Southern Door, Kropuenske believes having plenty of returning letter winners and a new up-tempo style of defense will give the Vikings the push they need toward the top of the standings.

In addition to Gibraltar, Kropuenske tagged Southern Door, Kewaunee, and Algoma as teams to watch out for in the Packerland Conference this year. The Vikings currently sit at 1-2 on the season, with losses to Algoma and Hilbert but a commanding 60-12 victory over Sturgeon Bay. They will next take to the court on December 1st when they welcome Mishicot to Gibraltar.
