There is no denying who the class of the Packerland Conference is again this year. Look no farther than Southern Door’s 28th straight conference win. On Tuesday it was a 68-53 for assistant coach Josh VandenBush (filling in as head coach) and the high flying Eagles. Southern Door swept the JV and JV2 games winning 61-58 and 36-32 respectively.
Sturgeon Bay suffered the toughest defeat Tuesday. The Clippers fell to N.E.W. Lutheran 59-56. Sam Meerstein was too much for Sturgeon Bay as he went off for 21 points to lead all scorers. Carson Talbert did the heavy lifting for Sturgeon Bay tallying 19 points while guard Mitchell Jackson added 16 points in the loss. Only three Clippers players tallied more than four points (Jake Schneider scored nine).
Sevastopol fell 59-56 to Peshtigo. Robby Pollman nailed four three-pointers and finished with 20 points but it wasn’t enough for the Pioneers. Brent Haberli scored 14 points in the loss.
