Luxemburg-Casco coach follows a legend

The legendary Mike Schanhofer coached the girls basketball team at Luxemburg-Casco High School for 26 years. During his tenure the program won 13 conference championships and 3 state titles. Jeff Jodar was a part of that history as he was an assistant under Schanhofer, and helped LC win their 3rd state championship in 2004. Now he is in his second stint as the head coach and is trying to get the program to the same heights as the old coach who passed away in July of last year.

Jodar does it in a different way, as he is a more laid back kind of coach while Schanhofer was an intense, fiery personality. The current coach considers it to be such a privilege to follow in the legend’s footsteps and is reminded of that everyday.

The Luxemburg-Casco girls (4-3 overall, 3-1 conference) basketball season continues tomorrow with a conference game at Clintonville (2-5 overall, 1-3 conference). Tip-off is at 7:00 PM.
