Algoma Boys struggling but still impressing the coach

The Algoma boys basketball team has certainly struggled so far this season but Head Coach Corie Zimmerman is still impressed with his team in a lot of ways. Despite the team having some blowout losses, he has really liked how the team has competed.

That’s what made their first victory of the season so sweet. After suffering double-digit losses in the first 3 games of the season, they got an exciting one-point win over Gresham Community at home in their fourth game of the season.

Senior Max Schoening is the team’s leading scorer, and Coach Zimmerman loves how he has been playing and says he is the leader of the team. The coach also likes how Chase Peronto (Junior) and Carter Zimmerman (Freshman) are progressing along as well.

The Algoma (1-6 overall, 0-3 conference) boys continue their season on Tuesday night playing at Oconto (3-3 overall, 2-2 conference) with tip-off at 7:30 PM.
