The Southern Door Eagles took advantage of two short-handed wrestling teams to pick up a pair of victories Tuesday night in Gillett. Here is what head coach Jerry Englebert said about the matches:
"SD 60 Gillett Suring 12
Winning by pin were Drew Price and Brodie Overbeck
SD 54 Crivitz 21
Winning by pin were Angel Cardos and Thomas Grosbeier.
Both opponents were short of wrestlers and gave up several forfeits which allowed us to put some backup wrestlers in on varsity to gain experience and they did well."
Southern Door and Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol shared a bus to the meet. The two teams will wrestle each other on Thursday at Sevastopol with the first varsity matches beginning at 7 p.m. WRLU 104.1 will carry the match live with Tim Kowols and Greg Letter on the call beginning at 6:30 p.m. with the pre-match show.
