Mark Murphy proud of his hire of LaFleur

Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy was beaming Wednesday as he revealed the 15th head coach in franchise history, Matt LaFleur. Murphy's excitement should be all Packers fans need to see to gauge what a big hire this is for the Green & Gold.

Murphy told reporters in the Lambeau Field Atrium yesterday that LaFleur was the tenth of ten scheduled interviews and that the 39-year-old blew General Manager Brian Gutekunst, Executive Vice President Russ Ball and him away. The smile on Murphy and Gutekunst's faces yesterday was as big as LaFleur.

No one was beaming as much as the new head coaches mother as she sat next to her husband and the new first lady of the Green Bay Packers. La Fleur's dad too was a football coach and Mark Murphy was sure to mention that during yesterday's press conference.

Murphy said LaFleur was by far the most organized and prepared of the candidates and his quiet confidence was something that drew the selection committee to him.

LaFleur said that coaching the Green Bay Packers is a true "dream job." He spoke of the importance of family and that he intends to bring excellence back to Green Bay.
