Defense is there for Sturgeon Bay girls

Limiting opposing teams to under 50 points has been a major goal for the Sturgeon Bay girls basketball team. Although the Clippers were unable to meet that mark against Gibraltar on Monday, head coach Erik Tauschek is still happy with the result. Sturgeon Bay forced several turnovers throughout the night, showing quick hands and an ability to jump into passing lanes. Tauschek, who has previously said his team operates best when limiting teams to the 40-50 point range, said the game would have been a lot closer if not for his team's numerous turnovers.

The Clippers are 1-13 on the year and 1-8 in the Packerland Conference. The team has one more game this week, a home contest against conference powerhouse Kewaunee on Friday.
