Boys basketball round-up: Southern Door stays perfect

In addition to Monday’s Sturgeon Bay’s 71-50 victory over Gibraltar heard on 105.1 The Viking, Southern Door was able to stay perfect in conference while Algoma and Sevastopol lost their match-ups. 
 
The Eagles made it 34 straight in conference play with an 86-74 victory over Kewaunee. Algoma could not rebound from a tough first half as they fell 70-37. Sevastopol also faced rough sledding at home to NEW Lutheran, losing 68-46. 
 
Sturgeon Bay turned up the heat on defense Monday night against Gibraltar. The Vikings were outscored 34-17 in the first half. Jake Schneider led the Clippers with 23 points as the game's high scorer. Carson Talbert added 13 and Trent Ehlers scored 12 in the win. Ryan Murphy led the Vikings with 19 points. Teammate Andras Szakala tallied 13 points in the loss.
 
Weather permitting Luxemburg-Casco will host Waupaca in a Northeastern Conference tilt at 7 p.m. The Spartans can even up their conference record at 5-5 with a victory after defeating Oconto Falls last week 79-58.
